In November 2012 it was announced that Earls Court would be demolished to make room for 8,000 new flats it was going to start in January 2014, but on the 12th December 2012 Sir James Harrison bought a plot of land in London, sold it to make room for the flats keeping Earls Court remaining.
Earls Court was the venue for the final of the first series of talent show The X Factor in 2004, following the final of Series 9 the shows creator James Harrison had announced that the final would be held at Earls Court for at least the next five series.
